A MESSAGE FOR OUR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES:
KNOW HOW WE ARE HANDLING THE CORONA VIRUS IN OUR DAY TO DAY ACTIVITY.
Guiding Light Hospice is dedicated to providing exceptional and uncompromising care to our patients. We assure you we are taking all measures to protect those in our care, as well as our team members, from exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19). We understand the fears and anxiety coming from our patients and families because of the high risk the virus brings to our majority patient population, but we want to assure you, our team is following the guidance put forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
ONE OF THE OPTIONS WE’VE INCLUDED IN OUR SERVICES IS:
Telehealth & Telepharmacy consultations to provide virtual care for patients (when appropriate). More information on this method of care can be provided upon request.
For traditional visits to patients, our nurses will also now pre-screen patients before each visit by asking patients and/or family members for:

Any symptoms related to Covid-19 (fever and respiratory)

If none are presenting, our healthcare providers will:

Wash their hands with soap and water

Practice recommendations put forth by the CDC during the visit, including those related to greeting family members (hand shaking, hugging, etc)

Wear face masks at all times

Restrict visits to the area the patient resides in
Also, please feel comfortable in knowing Guiding Light:
Currently has an ample supply hand hygiene, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment supplies.
Is adhering to changing clinical protocols at long term care facilities/assisted living facilities and hospitals.
Is taking extra measures in educating patients and families receiving care in their homes.
