What services does Guiding Light Hospice Provide?

Guiding Light is one of the few hospices in the nation to provide home visits for hospice patients during the initial days of Hospice by a Board Certified Physician in Hospice and Palliative Care.

The levels of hospice care covered under Medicare and Medicaid include

  • Respite Care: Which allows time off for caregivers while a trained aid steps in to assist with patient care at home.
  • Routine Home Care: Nurses, volunteers and social workers make routine visits to the home several times a week to assist with care.
  • Continuous Home Care: Aggressive treatment to manage pain and symptoms, administered at a patient’s home.
  • Inpatient Care: Care delivered at a hospice facility with a full staff of nurses and physicians on hand. This care is typically administered near end of life, when treatment becomes too great to bear at home.
